ALUMICONN INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

There are 2 sets of Alumiconn installation instructions. The first set of instructions is to be used if you have a torque screwdriver. This method is UL listed. The second set of instructions are to be used if you only have a regular screwdriver. This set of instructions isn’t part of the UL listing, but the manufacturer (King Innovation) stands firmly behind this installation method.

Option 1 – UL LISTED INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT: Turn off power before installing or removing connector. Product to be used in accordance with local and national codes.

  1. Strip conductors 5/16"
  2. Insert conductor into wire port, fully seating conductor into port.
  3. Tighten set screws to the torque indicated below, based on conductor size and material as indicated. Do not over torque.

15 inch-pounds # 10 Solid Aluminum
15 inch-pounds All Solid & Stranded Copper

Option 2 – MANUFACTURER APPROVED INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT: Turn off power before installing or removing connector. Product to be used in accordance with local and national codes.

  1. Strip conductors 5/16"
  2. Insert conductor into wire port, fully seating conductor into port.
  3. This step is manufacturer-approved and is for use on solid wire only. Using a screwdriver, tighten set screw until it comes into contact with the solid conductor. Note location of screwdriver slot and continue tightening the set screw as indicated below.

Note: AL = Aluminum, CU = Copper. Also note that the 'power out' is optional and not always applicable, depending on how your wiring is set up.
